Located in the heart of Iowa's capital city, the Evelyn Davis Early Learning Academy has educated, nurtured, and provided essential services forchildren (age 3-5) within the greater Des Moines area for over forty-four years. We are a full-day (6:45 a.m. - 5:45 p.m.), year-round, award-winning, nationally and state certified preschool.
Our mission is to create lifelong learners by supporting the social, academic, physical and emotional development of children and working with their families through a statewide, collaborative, and comprehensive system of quality early childhood education.

The EDEL Academy is licensed by the State of Iowa, Department of Human Services and supported by United Way of Central Iowa, Des Moines Public Schools, Polk County, Shared Vision Grant, Community Development Block grant, Community Partnerships, and private contributors like you!Our school was founded in 1967 by Mrs. Evelyn Davis, a much-loved community leader and early childhood educator. Our roots began as a daycare center with the name Tiny Tots, which has since been transformed into a full-fledged academic preschool and renamed in 2002 in honor of our founder, Mrs. Evelyn K. Davis.

- A non-profit 501(c) 3, private academic institution focused on the basics of reading literacy, math, and science
- Our classroom teachers are all state certified, 4-year university graduates
- Our teacher assistants are all state certified
- We specialize in small classrooms with hands-on academic and enrichment programs
